I have always referred to my YA work in progress as "Spark". That's been a temporary title for the main manuscript and others in my planned series (Spark1, Spark2, Spark3). In May of 2022, I was able to curate solid outlines for the 3 books and have been running forward with book 1 ever since. I got a completed draft together in July 2023. I used most of 2024 to make edits and fill in blanks, then I sent it to an editor in November 2024. I've looked at it some in 2025, but didn't push myself since we were prepping for and then had a baby. But I'm ready to get Book 1 out into the world once I get my final edits and polishing applied! 

I would consider my YA novel to be a fantasy adventure story. It's got sisters/found family, royalty, good (light) vs. evil (dark), dragons, and sweet romance sprinkled in. Think of something like Pirates of the Caribbean (there will be pirates in Spark2), Avatar: The Last Airbender, How To Train Your Dragon, Maleficent, Lord of the Rings, and The Princess Bride.
